THIS IS HINDUISM.
Shri V. JAYARAMAN.
Shri Jayaraman is a retired government servant. He is proficient in Tamil literature and has a good knowledge of Siddha Vaidya, Homoeopathy and about Hinud religion in general. The views mentioned in this article are his own assessment. Though we may broadly agree with his views, there may be some points of difference. Yet, we are putting across his views verbatim while expressing our differences separately in brackets. In this edition, we bring only the authors introductory message to his book.
It is a reprehensible wonder to see the lack of curiosity among the people of this Holy Land (mainly Hindus) to know about their culture and the way of life (Hindu religion) and when confronted, their standard reply is I do not know or I do not have interest. When an ordinary Christian or Muslim is able to express and explain his religion and customs, even an educated Hindu lacks this basic knowledge. In temples too there are many idols signifying the several aspects of God, a Hindu is unable to identify them without a name board above them.
So, it is my aim and intention to make a beginning that an ordinary Hindu must be able to tell the basic aspects of our indegenious culture, fusioned with religion. As Hinduism is a vast and deep ocean with numerous wonders and secrets, only a handful can be taken, tested, verified, proved and established, about their contents and nature.
As I am an ordinary man without the deep knowledge of our holy scriptures, the matter contained in this book are only those things which were heard, read and felt by me intuitively. Also I am incapable to argue and debate about the veracity of the contents of this book.
I simply bow before you, Readers, to read and then accept or reject my comprehension of this Holy Lands culture.
