Due to financial and time constraints, this edition is coming out very late. The article on creation legends deals with Varaha Avatara and its equivalent episodes in other parts of the world.
When the eighth element Oxygen was formed, in its first ring, 2 electrons were there and in the second ring, there were 6 electrons. This 2nd ring is capable of taking 2 more electrons. Somehow, 2 electrons of 2 hydrogen elements got attracted to it and so a new compound was formed i.e. water. In the process, the protons of hydrogen atoms became their first. At this juncture, Fire divided itself and water and earth were created. Then Protons were able to absorb 3 electrons from outside. Thus, Shiva became Jeeva. From here the separation of protons and electrons will continue endlessly. The last stage were proton, the nucleus comes out of the electron shield of the hydrogen, has been described in the Indian mythology as Varaha Avatar.
2. The article on Hinduism, cites 5 reasons, why Hindus should be proud of themselves. 3 incidents reported in December, 2005, by DNA newspaper, corroborates the comments made in this article regarding how better off Indian Muslims and Christians are in India as compared to their counter parts elsewhere.
A complaint has been made by Bishop Anthony Lobo of Islamabad in Pakistan against the government, which has evicted Christian families from the capital and Rawalpindi t solve theproblem of housing the 3 million Muslims who were displaced by the killer earthquake.
The second report says that a female Christian student, Quandeel, has filed a writ petition before the Lahore High Court challenging the governments policy of awarding 20 additional marks to every Muslim in the Hafiz e Koran, which means, a Muslim who has learnt Koran by heart. In sharp contrast a writ petition was filed in an Indian court against the decision of Aligarh Muslim University authorities to reserve a huge percentage of post graduate seats for Muslims. Is it not a case of reverse discrimination against the majority Hindus?
The third and final report is about Abdul Latif Naushad (32) from Kerala who is languishing in Dammam jail for two and a half years for causing damage to a Saudi national Muthefes eye. He may have his eye gauged out as a punishment as per the law of that country. We appeal to the government of India to do the needful, to get him released and brought to India. However, this incidence brings out the duplicity of Muslim fundamentalist in India to public view broad day light. They prefer Indian criminal law in preference to the Islamic criminal code, as they can escape freely after committing the most henious of crimes. They misuse the freedom of expression given to them by the Indian constitution by issuing all sorts of despicable fatwas disregarding the law of the land. On the other hand, they want the Muslim civil code as per the Islamic law not for following any of the basic holy tenets of Islam. For eg. Not collecting interest on deposits, not going to a prostitute, not drinking liquor etc. but they want this civil code only for multiple marriages, triple talaq , quick divorce after giving paltry maintenance to the wife and for putting obstacles in the governments efforts for a planned family.
Hope, better sense will prevail and there will be a fatwa against issuing any more fatwas. The entire responsibility for the rising Hindu fundamentalism which we equally hate lies on the shoulders of these Muslim fanatics. It is time secular Muslims made their voices heard.
3. The suras in the Islamic section are used in the namas offered five times a day.
4. The section on philosophy deals with the episode of Jadabharatha. For some unknown reasons Narayaneeyam which is a abridged version of Bhagavatam, does not contain this episode. To fill the gap, Brahmahshree Anantarama Deekshitar has composed two Dasakams while another pandit from Kerala has composed one Dasakam on this episode.
5. The sports section deals about the various ailments that afflict Indian Sports. Though the article may look time barred, the point mentioned therein are still valid. For eg. The non-preparation of pitches that suit the Home team. This has again been proved once again by the preparation of unfriendly pitch at Hyderabad, which suits South Africa more than the host. But then, since Guru Greg Chappel has never played against class spinners in turning pitches of India, he might not know about the pitches that help spin. Further Greg Chappel and Sunil Gavaskar also need to look into the selection of Duleep Trophy teams, which are not truly representative of the teams available in the zone. Sachin Tendulkar has already expressed his surprise about the exclusion of Amol Mazumdar from the West Zone team. The same holds good for the exclusion of S. Sharath and S. Ramesh from the South Zone team. In the name of giving equal representation to all states in the zone, talented players are ignored, thereby weakening the Indian team.
6. The article on the Yoga deals with the Manipuraka Chakra.
7. We all know that Skanda as a god only. But very few know him as the Founder of the Tamil Language. Fewer people know that he was the leader of Siddhas. He was also an expert on Astrology and wrote Skanda Hora. The contribution of the Dravidians to the Indian astrology is detailed by Shri V. H. AYYAR of Jalgaon.
8. A formula showing the relation of the distances of the various planets from the Sun, is elucidated in our section on Astronomy.
9. A musical composition in praise of Lord Ganapathy at Kalpathy embellishes our music section.
10. Two Sutras from Vedic mathematics are explained in our mathematical section.
