Dhyana Keertanam

In the first edition of Srikrishnamangal, we have dealt with the importance, beauty, and utility aspects of Navavarana Keertanams, now we may turn our attention to the individual keertanams.

Song for meditating upon Kamalambika before dealing with each of the nine aavaranams or layers. This composition is in Thodi Raga and Roopaka Tala.

Pallavi

O Kamalambike, who is like the creeper of the Kalpakavruksha to the devotees who take refuge under you; O Chandike, wearing an attractive red garment, you protect me.

Anupallavi

O Kamalambike, whose lotus-like feet are worshipped by Brahma, etc, who gives many boons, who is the splendour of Kamalalaya Lake, who is a benefactress and who is an ocean of kindness, you protect me.

Charanam

O Kamalambike, who is the ruler of all the worlds, who is fond of music, who gives good poetic abilities, who is beautiful, who is devoid of illusion, who is capable of giving bodyless liberation, who destroys sins, whose rays are in the form of ether, air, fire, water and earth, whose feet are beautiful, who is red, who is all-encompassing, who created Guruguha, who is the inner soul of Sadasiva, who is in the form of letters belonging to the groups beginning with A, Ka, Cha, Ta, Tha, Pa, Ya and Sa, and who is the full essence of the single whole, you protect me.
