TRANSLATION:

Pallavi :

O mind! Propitiate Lord Vignesha.

Anupallavi:

You propitiate that Ganapathy, who removes obstacles, destroys sins, is the Lord of Kalpathi and who cleanses the minds of three types of mala (dirt - Aanava, Maayika and Kaarma), which afflict human beings in Kali Yuga.

Charanam:

You propitiate that Ganesha who rides on the mouse, has Modaka in His hands, and who resides in the village near the (erstwhile) Manthakkarai.

Dhrutaa kalam:

Propitiate that Gajanana who is Elephant faced, is the son of Parvati and who is worshipped by Sangameswara Vadhyaar of Maudgalya Gotra.

Note: The great Sangameswara Vadhyar, went on fast for 3 days to persuade the villagers to arrange for Nitya Nivedyam to Lord Ganapathy/ Hence, he was fondly called GAANAAPTHYA SANGAMESWARA VADHYAR. He named his second son after his favourite deity and that son later became famous as GANAPTHY SASTHRIGAL, who taught Sanskrit in Government Victoria College of Palghat.
